I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
